West-Facing House
About this guide
West-facing houses are governed by Varuna (deity of water and cosmic order) and Saturn, and are considered very favorable for stable income, creative professions, and long-term material success. While less discussed than East-facing homes, West-facing houses bring immense prosperity when the Vastu layout correctly balances the water element and Saturn's disciplined energy.

Placement tips
The main entrance should be in the 3rd or 4th pada from the North side of the West wall for the most auspicious placement.
Construct the South and South-West areas of the plot heavier and higher than the North and East zones.
Place study rooms, office areas, or commercial spaces in the West portion of the house to benefit from Saturn's focus and discipline.
Use a water feature or aquarium in the North-East to balance the West's water energy while directing prosperity inward.
Do
Keep the North-East corner open, clean, and sacred to ensure positive energy flows effectively from front to back of the house.
Paint West-facing rooms in soft blue, grey, white, or cream tones to resonate with Varuna and Saturn's calm energy.
Use the West zone for parking, gym, or entertainment rooms as Saturn's energy supports sustained effort and structured leisure.
Avoid
Avoid placing the kitchen or master bedroom directly in the West if these rooms face heavy afternoon sun without adequate ventilation.
Do not leave the South-West zone of a West-facing house empty, as it should be the heaviest and most built-up area for stability.
Avoid main doors in the extreme North-West corner of the West wall, as this pada is associated with Vayu (wind) and creates instability.
